Hi,
As your 2019 Osceola Bar president, I wanted to write you a few lines to introduce myself.
I was born in Havana, Cuba. When I was eleven years old, my parents brought my sister and me to the United States. I enrolled in the 6th grade at Stonewall Jacksonville Middle School in Orlando, Florida. The following year, I transferred to Conway Middle School, also in Orlando, Florida. While in middle school, I enjoyed playing soccer and basketball. After graduating from middle school, I went to Cypress Creek High School, where I participated in the International Baccalaureate program and was a member of the swim team, water polo team, and the debate team.
In 2005, I graduated high school and attended the University of Florida. In college, I played in the water polo club. My sophomore year, I began dating the love of my life, Andrea. She has been an integral part of my life since 2006. After graduating from UF, I attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. For my final two years of law school, I was able to transfer back to the University of Florida. After graduation, I accepted a job as an Assistant State Attorney in Jacksonville, Florida. I prosecuted cases in the Fourth Judicial Circuit circuit for three years until Andrea accepted a job in Orlando, Florida, and we moved to Kissimmee, Andrea’s hometown. In Kissimmee, I accepted a job in the Ninth Judicial Circuit, where I continued to prosecute misdemeanor and felony cases. In April of 2018, I accepted a job with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office as their assistant general counsel.
This newest chapter in my life has, so far, been extremely rewarding. As a prosecutor, I enjoyed fighting for the victims of crimes, and, now, as an attorney for the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, I get to train our law enforcement and help them make the best possible cases and uphold the law.
When I am not working, I like to spend time with Andrea and our dogs, Eva and Taco.
I am excited and honored to represent the Osceola County bar as your 2019 president, and I look forward to working hard for you!
Jose
